Project-Based Learning: We Did It Ourselves!

Sometimes there are lessons that not only teach you something new, but also help you discover yourself. The recent project-based lesson we had at school was exactly that kind of experience – interesting, thought-provoking, and a journey that brought us face-to-face with our own abilities.

The topic of our lesson was “Clean Energy Sources.” At first, it seemed like an ordinary and familiar subject. But when our teacher announced that it would be a project-based lesson, our interest immediately increased. We were divided into groups, and each group had to work on a specific type of energy. Our team was assigned “solar energy.” The task was quite a responsibility: research the topic, build a model, and present it in front of the class.

As we began our research, we realized that the topic was far more interesting and comprehensive than we had imagined. Solar energy isn’t just about solar panels—it is also a symbol of a clean and sustainable future. This idea motivated us, and we started working with even more enthusiasm. We created a model using unused household items—plastic containers, small mirrors, paper, and other materials. And the most important part? We did it all by ourselves!

During the preparation phase, everyone had a clear role: one person researched the technical side, another worked on visual design, and someone else wrote the presentation text. Of course, there were disagreements and differing opinions, but all of this taught us how to collaborate, listen to each other, and make collective decisions.

On presentation day, there was a speci
