On February 21–22, the “FIRST LEGO League Challenge” Republic Tournament was held with the support of the Ministry of Science and Education and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, organized by the “STEAM Azerbaijan” project.
The main goal of the tournament was to increase students’ interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEAM), foster innovative thinking, and develop teamwork and problem-solving skills.
Teams representing various regions of the country participated in the tournament, presenting innovative projects prepared within a pre-determined theme, as well as demonstrating their robot programming skills. Participants were evaluated in the categories of Robot Design, Robot Game, Innovation Project, and Core Values.
During the two-day tournament, teams showcased not only their technical knowledge but also their presentation and collaboration skills. The evaluation was conducted by a panel of judges in accordance with international FIRST criteria.
The “FIRST LEGO League Challenge” tournament plays an important role in guiding students toward engineering and innovation from an early age and helping them acquire globally competitive skills.
The “STEAM Azerbaijan” project will continue its efforts to reveal students’ potential and support their technology-oriented development in the future.
