STEAM Innovation Center
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and first lady Mehriban Aliyeva participated in the opening of the "STEAM Innovation Center" in Baku.
Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev informed the head of state and the first lady about the conditions created in the Center.
The first three floors of the new four-story building of the "STEAM Innovation Center" were designed in the concept of a Science Museum.
The 4th floor is designed as an activity zone for pupils and students according to the content of various STEAM modules.
The center has an aviation space, classic Newton, Newton for children, conference, game, construction, ideas workshop, "Eureka Classics" rooms, robot development laboratory, "3D hologram", VR/AR rooms, a large hall for STEAM TV studio, Science Theater .
It was pointed out that the activity of the "STEAM Innovation Center", which is a continuation of the "STEAM Azerbaijan" project, differs according to the curriculum of the existing centers of the same name in secondary schools. Schoolchildren and students of different age categories applying to this Center will improve their ability to use modern ICT equipment by applying 21st century skills - creativity, development of cooperation, various programming languages. When children encounter real-life problems, they will try to find the most appropriate solutions through the STEAM method and demonstrate their creative approach.
It was reported that the purpose of this Center is to direct the potential and interests of students to the work of serving the society, to encourage them to study. The STEAM teaching method is very important in the socio-economic development of the country in modern times. So, through this method, children will be able to reveal the product of their brains along with other fields of science, grow up as experts of the future and contribute to the development of the country.
The establishment of this Center is a clear manifestation of the attention and importance given by our state to the application of innovations in the field of science and education in our country, to the development of education at the level of modern requirements, and to the realization of new ideas of the young generation.
