On September 21, with the support of the Ministry of Science and Education, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, the opening ceremony of the STEAM and Innovation Center was held at the Talent High School in Sumgayit.
Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev, Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev, Head of Sumgayit City Executive Authority Zakir Farajov took part in the opening ceremony.
The guests met the teachers and students of the school and got acquainted with the conditions created in the center.
It was stated that the creation of the center aims to increase the potential of talented students, as well as organize their preparation for local and international Olympiads and competitions.
Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev emphasized that the center will be important in terms of a new approach to education, as well as the application of innovative teaching methods. Noting that the scope of STEAM-based education has been expanded in the 2023-2024 academic year, Emin Amrullayev said that the main goal is to ensure the application of modern technologies in the realization of innovative ideas of students, as well as to form the skills of using artificial intelligence in various fields of the economy.
The minister expressed his confidence that the conditions created in the school will play an important role in the formation of capable personnel who respond to new challenges among students.
The Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev said that in order to create strong human capital and turn our country into a place of innovation, we must first increase knowledge in exact sciences, technologies and IT, and succeed in training specialists in this field. The new center will play exactly this role. Here, it is intended to discover and develop students' knowledge and skills in the fields of mathematics, chemistry, informatics, robotics, as well as the implementation of innovative educational projects.
Zakir Farajov, the head of the Sumgayit City Executive Authority, who spoke at the opening ceremony, expressed his gratitude for the innovative conditions created for schoolchildren.
Later, the newly renovated library of the educational institution was inspected.
At the end, a commemorative photo was taken with the school staff.
